KSTAR vs GoodWe

For installations in Mallorca, KSTAR BluE is the option specifically designed for the Mediterranean environment. The real IP65 certification protects against marine salinity that degrades IP54 or lower systems within just 3-5 years. Additionally, KSTAR has 30 years manufacturing UPS for critical environments —no other residential segment brand has that track record— and its CATL battery is the only one whose origin is certified through an official USD 150 million joint venture published on the stock exchange.

KSTAR BluE's battery uses CATL LFP cells —the world's largest battery manufacturer— through a co-designed joint venture published on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. It's traceable, verifiable and certified. GoodWe uses 'grade A cells' without always specifying the manufacturer with that level of traceability. Additionally, CATL's LFP chemistry guarantees zero thermal combustion risk, 5,300 cycles and over 14 years of useful life.

IP65 means complete protection against dust and water jets from any direction. In Mallorca, marine salt spray penetrates equipment with IP54 or lower protection and corrodes circuits and connectors within 3-5 years. KSTAR BluE with IP65 installs directly on terraces, garages or patios without additional protection, with guaranteed operation throughout its lifespan in a marine environment.

A UPS (uninterruptible power supply) is the standard of excellence in electrical backup. It's used in hospitals and data centers where no outage is acceptable. KSTAR has been manufacturing UPS since 1993, is global top 5 according to Omdia, and that experience translates to battery switchover in less than 10ms — imperceptible to any appliance. Conventional solar battery systems take 20-100ms, which can reset computers or alarms.

KSTAR BluE offers a 10-year performance warranty and 5-year product warranty. KSTAR has been listed on the stock exchange since 2010 (002518.SZ): its financial solvency is publicly audited and verified. That means in 2034 KSTAR will still be there to honor the warranty. GoodWe offers industry-standard warranties but without that level of public financial transparency and without the verifiable joint venture with CATL.

Yes. IP65 certifies complete protection against water and dust, including marine salinity. Operating range -20°C to +50°C: covers from Mallorca's inland winters to the island's hottest summers. KSTAR BluE is typically installed on terraces, garages and patios without any additional cabinet or cover. This is a decisive advantage in Mediterranean homes where indoor technical space is usually limited.

It depends on the installation, but with good solar orientation in the Balearic Islands it's common to cover 80-90% of annual consumption. Automatic TOU management charges the battery during off-peak hours and discharges during peak hours, maximizing savings without user intervention. The 200% oversizing allows capturing more energy during peak irradiance hours, especially valuable during the Balearic Islands' long summer sun hours.
